Car scams

Please all be aware of current car scams being done

Never send money or cheques to people abroad to buy a vehicle that they promise to deliver to you, just ask your self "why should you trust a person you never have met". Reports show numerous people have lost quite a far bit of money this way, don't be caught out.

The supposed buyer will offer to send you a cheque for an amount greater than the actual asking price of the vehicle advertised. They will then claim that this is to cover the shipping costs and will later ask you to send a cheque back for the difference. The initial cheque they send you will appear to clear when given to the bank but later on find that it was a counterfeit and will be withdrawn by your bank. By this time it is too late and they have cashed your genuine cheque for the supposed over payment.
